Tasted at the 2003 Oregon Brewers Fest. Medium gold color. Medium head. Aroma is malty, fruity and yeasty. A medium bodied golden ale, Fruity and yeasty. Mild, sweet and refreshing. Fruity and yeasty. Nice bright yeasts. Refreshing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

A hazy golden ale with very little head. The smell was very reminiscent of champagne. The taste wasn't much different, subtle malt flavors were overpowered by a grape peel sourness, though it finished very dry. I suppose that shouldn't be a surprise if it smells and tastes somewhat like champagne. The aftertaste was wouldn't leave you believing it had been an ale either.

"The Inebriated Review"
Appearance: golden-amber in color, slightly hazy, thin crown of head
Aroma: appley, little to no hops, twinge of malt, wheat ale-y
Flavor: upfront grapefruity-bitter tanginess followed by a bready/malty sweetness, slightly earthy, not nearly "blooming" enough (Belgian Golden ales should just pop with flavor)
Mouthfeel: medium-light body, zesty carbonation, tangy
Overall Impression: This was one of the last beers I drank at the festival, but my perception was still pretty keen (I think). Pegged as a Belgian Golden ale, it is shameful. Brewers of this style should aspire to reach the likes of Duvel or Hapkin. This falls far off the mark. It's more like a saison.

Hazy gold orange in color with a persistent white head. Head laces very nicely. Candy sugar was quite evident in both aroma and taste. Beer also had a spicy zestiness. Malt profile was kept high and tasted very much like a belgian. In a blind taste test, I doubt anyone would have indentified as a US brewed beer. I would say flavor was it was a cross between a Triple and Pale Strong Ale. Either way, it was good stuff.
