A delicious and slightly complex Belgian-inspired beer from Lille Holmgård Bryghus in West Jutland. Here you get lots of flavor in a beer with a lot of flavor, which easily competes with the Belgian models. Kaptajn Hadock is a strong, dark, slightly sweet and slightly spicy full-bodied ale with a moderately dry finish. Roasted notes of chocolate, coffee and notes of both dried fruits complete the taste experience.

Copenhagen 27/11 2024. 50 cl bottle from Vinspecialisten Herning, Søndergade, Herning. Off-white and blue label in Lille Holmgård's usual design.
Pours clear mahogany with a red hue and a mid-sized off-white head. Settles as uneven and lumpy layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sugary sweet, malty odor mingling with dark alcohol and sweet dark fruit. Brown sugar and toffee. Raisins and plums. Wood and leather. Whiff of sour grains.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, smooth, almost flat texture.
Flavor is quite intense with a strong sweetness followed and balanced by a rather strong rough bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingering. Finish is rough and dry.
A bit on the rough and bitter side for a Quadruple.
