Copenhagen 30/6 2025. 50 cl bottle from Vinspecialisten, Søndergade, Herning. Off-white label in Lille Holmgård's usual design in a maroon version.
Pours unclear - almost opaque - golden amber with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as a frothy, thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a yeasty and spicy scent Sweet pale malts, white sugar and a bit of alcohol. Humid cellar. Touch of rustic farm life.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a light bitter touch. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
Not especially dry - but a nice sweet and potent Bière de Garde.
