Copenhagen 3/7 2025. 50 cl bottle from Vinspecialisten, Søndergade, Herning. Lille Holmhgård's usual label design in a green version.
Pours clear dark mahogany with a small off-white head. Stable. Settles as a thin and patchy layer of foam unable covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet and a bit sugary odor of malts and alcohol mingling with sourish grainy scent. Brown sugar, caramel and toffee. Whiff of dark alcohol and nuts. Metallic edge.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, smooth, silken lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sourish and bitter with a notable sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Fair take on a Belgian Dubbel.
