Marielyst 14/10 2024. 50 cl bottle from Marius Mortensens Eftf. Off-white label with a brown horizontal stripe, a set of female lips and a jumbo-sized version of the brewery’s logo.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small off-white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as a lonely patch of foam floating about. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of dark malts mingling with some bitter coffee and licorice. Dark malts with a light roast. Light whiff of peat and smoke.
Rather strong carbonation. Thin, oily, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a rough bitter undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Hard carbonated and a bit rough.
