Extra Stout is a jet black stout in the Irish tradition. The taste is as deep as its black color. A light bite from the start leads you to the full taste of roasted, dark malt, which also leaves notes of coffee and chocolate. It gives you a round and soft taste of bitter and sweet, and ends with a dry finish. Goes well with seafood, dark chocolate and good simmered food.

Copenhagen 20/11 2024. 50 cl bottle from Vinspecialisten, Søndergade, Herning. Simple white label with a golden horizontal stripe and the logo of the brewery.
Pours opaque dark brown with a mid-sized off-white head. Stable. Settles as a thin patch of foam floating in the middel of the glass. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is medium intense with a light sweet malty and a bit roasted odor mingling with sour grains and bit of citrus. Brown sugar and toffee. Earthy notes. Dark chocolate and a whiff of lemon.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a light sweetness followed by a quite strong bitterness. Aftertaste is tart and sourishly bitter. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Quite bitter without much redeeming sweetness.
