On tap at Lionheart Pub & Brewery in Albany, NY.
This one pours a dark-ish golden brown color, murky, with a small and quickly fizzled out head, and lots of lacing. This supposed to be a NE-style IPA, and it looks basically nothing like what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to be bright and vibrant, yellow or orange, not a dirty looking amber ale.
This smells like malt and hop astringency, and not much else.
This is easily one of the worst IPAs I've ever had. Absolutely nothing about screams NE-style IPA. It's mostly just dirty and stale malt flavor, with generic bitterness and nothing else. There's really nothing to suggest here.
This is light bodied, overly astringent, husky, and grainy, with very little drinkability to it.
I really do like the Lionheart as a bar, but their foray into actual brewing does not seem to be a good idea.
