I had this beer on-tap in a snifter at the 2014 WABL Belgianfest in Seattle. They had a couple of different versions available, including the base Not Shawn's Saison and a ginger and peppercorn-infused version; sadly, this is the only one I got to try.
Appearance: looks like a witbier in a lot of ways; light golden hue with a big cloudiness and a large, tenacious white head. I like it.
Smell: the witbier semblance doesn't stop at the visual! Aroma is creamy with a lot of orange peel; lots of bitter pith in the mix, which I like.
Taste: creamy, sweet, soapy; the orange peel and coriander really come through. There's quite a bit of bitterness from the orange peel, but I think it is a successful application.
Mouthfeel: lighter body but with a satisfying creaminess. I can dig it.
Overall: I just really like this one. The orange peel bitterness did build on the palate over time, but honestly it didn't bother me too much.
