A meal in a glass. A black, very rich and full-bodied stout with a silky smoothness that gives way to a long "roasty" finish. A heavy weight monster of a beer - not for the timid! Try it with dessert, or better yet, give our Oatmeal Stout Float a try!

pours a cola caramel brown with a finger of oatmeal head. The head reduces to a decent cap and some soapy lacing. Nose is fresh black coffee, chocolate, some floral/herbal hop qualities and roasted grain. Taste follows suit with the addition of spicy rye toast on the finish. Medium mouthfeel with a good carbonation bite.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours black with a considerable amount of light brown head. The nose is fantastic. Dark roasted malts, tobacco, leather, dark chocolate, and wood.
The taste is spot on for a fantastic oatmeal stout. Dark malts, coffee grounds, dark chocolate, leather, bitter oak, tobacco, burnt toffee, black licorice, and burnt sugar. The flavor is intense yet nicely integrated. So smooth. Love it!
Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Overall, one of my favorite oatmeal stouts.

Pours a reddish tinged brown color. Thick, frothy mocha colored head dissipates slowly and not completely. Aroma has notes of roasted malts, creamy malts, some cocoa, chocolate, and a touch of cream with some light earthy hops.
Taste follows the nose with big roasted malts, some cocoa, chocolate, maybe a bit of coffee, giving way to some char, tobacco, and mild piney hop notes. Moderate bitterness on the back end. Feel is light to medium bodied, but solidly on the thinner side for an imperial oatmeal stout. Spritzy carbonation. Semi-dry to dry finish.
Overall this is quite nice. I do wish it had a bit more heft or silkiness for an oatmeal stout, but other than that I am quite enjoying this one.

From growler filled at tap. Freshest.
L: As dark as night, zero transparency. A mocha tan inch head. Rather fizzy but appears smooth.
S: Chocolate cake and toasted wafer, like a nutty bar or chocolate graham cracker. A healthy dose of sweetness behind the chocolate, milky not bitter. Minor hints of cherry and white icing.
T: Oat prevalent throughout. Initial darker chocolate and vanilla bean, followed by a light char and gentle barley. Medium bitterness with a bit of bite. The onset is bitter and bold, but it mellows into a warming lava cake flavor ending with a boozy sting.
F: Velvety oat, almost milky. Higher carbonation. Smooth in the mouth, hot in the back of the throat. Chewable and fluffy.
All in all, this oatmeal stout will warm and fill you right up. It is hearty, heavy, and bold on all front. A lofty ABV and flavors that embrace the tongue, of chocolate, dark biscuit and frosting, while somehow not cloying, this beer makes for one to hold tight on a chilly evening at the cabin.

Clear but nearly opaque ruby brown with a big pile of pale beige foam in the tall IPA glass. Fluffy and sudsy in the mouth. The aroma is distinctive but rather murky. Smells of damp woods and fresh turned earth, but not in such a good way. Some malty sweetness at first but turns burnt and dirty.
Aside from the musty smell this is a very tasty big dark beer. It has an abundance of herbal, dank hoppy flavors and more than enough bitterness in the aftertaste. A short glass of this is plenty. Lingering taste of old wine with a mineral edge, astringent feel. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station.

A bomber with no date received from generous BA beertunes last summer that's been in the fridge. Pouring it in a 14oz. stout glass for the review.
Look- Pours a thin dark cola colored brown leaving a small finger of tan foam. It slowly settles to form a ring revealing a little lacing.
Smell- Bakers chocolate, dark roast, cookie dough and a hint of char.
Taste- Semi sweet dark chocolate, tobacco, dark roast and malted milk.
Feel- Slick and oily but on the thin side for the style. It's a bit fizzy on the tongue with a semi dry finish.
Overall- I don't think time hurt this one at all. It's dangerously drinkable at 8.5% and tastes like a chocolate chip oatmeal cookie. Only minor 'complaint' is the relatively thin feel, otherwise a very good beer.

A — Pours a nearly pitch black body with a nice dark brown colored head on top, leaving behind it some solid bits of lacing with each sip, wonderful.

T — Taste is rich and full with notes of dark roasted malts, black coffee, dark chocolate, chewy and malt focused.
M — Medium-Full bodied, a sticky and lingering finish rounds things out.
O — Great overall, a bit boozy but this is chock full of flavor and depth, stick to your ribs.
