Released on the breweries 19th birthday, this beer is served in a 10oz goblet. Pours a nearly solid black, with just a thin cap of light brown head. There's a solid malt scent, with some chocolatey notes, with just a bit of earthy hops in the background.
On the tongue, that malt really covers the whole palate, with the chocolate kicking in at the end. There is a bit of alcohol hotness at the end of the beer, but it seems to fade after a few sips. The body is full and solid, but not heavy or sticky. Drinkability is dangerously good, you don't really realize the 9+ %. Overall, a very solid beer. Worth a trip up to the 'Ham if you're in the Puget Sound region.
