This is the first time I've reviewed the same beer, served differently. This review is cask conditioned, served in a pint glass, at the brewery. The visual & aromatics were very similar. It was poured from a firkin into a pint glass, with a solid head that left thick and attractive lacing.

I'm giving this version the same numerical score, taste wise, due to the lack of wiggle room in the scoring system. However I would have rated this a 4.7-4.9 if I could have. All the flavors were bolder, smoother and more well rounded than the draft version.

The body on this version was so full, smooth and satisfying that I forgot what style it is. The only reason drinkability didn't get a 5 is that this beer will knock you on your ass. Even I had to tread lightly. There will be/have been few chances to have this version of this beer. You would be a fool to pass up an opportunity to do so.

Appearance: Arrives with a cloudy copper color and a small head; nice lacing

Smell: Pine forest hops waft from the pint glass

Taste: A bit of caramel up front and the piney hops come on strong by mid-palate; while the hops ratchet up after the swallow, the beer never loses balance from the malt

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation

Drinkability: Incredibly hoppy but very well balanced by the caramel malt underneath
