A - Pours and brownish orange, more brown than orange. This beer is nearly opaque, darker than most beers in this style. An aggressive pour yields a one finger head that dissipates quickly. There is a little sediment floating around in the beer.
A - Slight astringent aroma buy I'm getting more on the malt side. Mostly giving off an aroma of toffee, biscuit, and bready notes. You can pick up a little alcohol. Hard to pull out the hop profile. Seems to be to malty for my liking.
T- Just as I suspected, very sweet. Too much malt in this one. The only bitterness I'm getting is in the finish. Not balanced too well.
M - Medium body. A little bit syrupy.
O - Not all that great. Not balanced.

OK this is NOT a BB brew. The brewery that made this beer closed and I can't enter the review (which I do just to keep a list for my own records) under it's own entry: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/12166/48774 , so I did it this way just to get it entered. If the mods feel the need to delete this entry, I understand.
The beer was very dark for the style, a ruby-brown color, with a thin off white head that had good lace, but low retention. The aroma was a big malt bomb and had a strong alcohol note. I've had this bottle sitting around for a few months (I forgot about it after a trade), and the hops are faded but noticeably present.
The flavor was a nice blend of those faded hops and strong malt. I bet this tasted great when fresh. The body was much fuller than most of the style and I appreciated that. Drinkability was pretty good for the style. Again, I wish I'd would've been able to try this beer fresh, I bet it would have been a treat.
