12oz can courtesy of BBThunderbolt. Forgot about it til I noticed it yesterday in the back of the fridge. Canned on July 19, 2022. So, if it's out of whack, that's why. Apparently, I'm the first to review it. Here's BB's description, which I nicked from UnTapped:
"Creamsicle Hazy IPA is a very
limited release inspired by the
cherished ice cream treat. The
use of Sabro and Bravo hops
combined with vanillin emit
tropical, citrus and vanilla
flavors that flow into a soft,
creamy delight - no tiny wooden
spoon needed!"
Poured into a BB shaker pint glass, this was an almost astonishingly clear golden amber, with a finger's worth of off-white head. I say astonishingly clear not because I've never seen a beer that clear before, but because this was described on the can as a "hazy IPA."
Big vanilla scent to this. Kinda overides everything. There is a whiff of orange as well, but it's mainly the vanilla's show.
Big blast of vanilla flavor with a tiny tease of citrus. Reminds me of a sweet vanilla orange soda.
Medium bodied, with a very slightly oily mouth feel.
I think this would've been better had I dispatched it in a timely manner. How better, I don't know, but I imagine there would've been more citrusy hop character. Pics on UnTapped show that it's always been as clear as my example was, which is kinda the opposite of a hazy, so I classified it here as simply an "American IPA." I would definitely try a fresh example of this for comparison and would alter the score accordingly should I get that chance.
