Served on tap, kegs released for April Brews Day 2015, tasted at a local establishment.
A – Pours a deep dark brown, nearly black, with a thin, almost nonexistent head. Lacing is very subtle, it's more of a residual cling of beer left behind than it is lacing.
S – Malts, chocolate, candied pecans, buttered toffee, bourbon, oak.
T – Quite sweet, chocolate and rich coffee notes, balanced by a big kick of bourbon and oak dryness.
M – Medium-Full bodied, leads to a long and lingering finish.
O – Great beer, did a side by side with Fremont BBADS Coffee, this was still impressive, just not as boozy and rich. Great beer.

I had this at a recent local beerfest. BB aged a keg of their Oatmeal Stout on bourbon soaked oak chips. The beer had the typical solid black color with a thin cap of brown head. In the nose the bourbon complimented the base beer very well, but the oak was very subdued.
On the tongue, the oak had a bit more of a presence, but the bourbon and stout flavors were still dominant. They was the same full, smooth and hearty substance as the base brew. Drinkability was surprisingly good, I had several of the 5oz samples. The almost 2 year old had smoothed out considerably and went down easily.
Overall, a step out of BB's usual comfort zone produced a very nice beer. I hope to see more of these from this brewery.I also made several Snakebites using this beer and they were very tasty as well.
