This version of BB's standard Oatmeal Stout has all the features of the regular version, with the obvious addition of the whiskey presence. There was a strong blast of whiskey in the nose and it was even more noticeable on the tongue. I'm not sure if this was a fresh barrel, or if they just left the beer in the barrel longer, but this beer had a much stronger whiskey presence than the other recent DF barrel releases.
The keg of this went quickly, so obviously the locals liked it a lot. I suspect these barrel releases will be popping up from time to time, and I strongly suggest trying them if you happen to see one.
