This is a big version of BB's Scotch Ale, released yearly for the local Highland games.
Served in 10oz goblet. Poured a clear dark maple color with about a half inch of tan head that quickly dissipated and left a thin ring of head and no lacing.
The aroma was mostly rich malts, with just a bit of spicy hops and peat floating in the background. There was also a bit of an alcohol note. The flavors were pretty much the same, good, rich malts dominating, and the peat having just a very slight presence.. The finish was just a little bit sticky.
The body was very good, full, smooth and rich. Drinkability was very good, especially for a brew of this strength. Overall, a very nice, strong beer. A must try during it's yearly, limited release.
