On-tap at Babe's
A: The beer pours a dark amber color, a bit of brown in there as well, with a finger of off-white head.
S: A pretty decent aroma to this one (amazingly). Red grapes and other dark fruits (perhaps prunes and cherries). A nice dark maltiness and some sweet toffee and caramel. Only a hint of peat.
T: The flavor is much the same as the aroma. Toffee and caramel sweetness combines with dark fruits. A mild peatiness and perhaps even a little bit of a vanilla flavor.
M: Medium in body with a moderate carbonation.
O: Easily the best beer at Babe's.

Sampled 4/23/2011 at the brewpub.
Pours clear, dark red, off-white head, not much lacing or retention.
Aroma is very malty with some chocolate and touch of roast. Very inviting.
Flavor is malt, bread, caramel, a healthy dose of chocolate, and a little bit of roast in the background. Low bitterness and good balance. No real booze presence. Nice.
Body is heavy, drinkable, over all nicely done.
