Copenhagen 7/5 2023. 50 cl bottle from BeerShoppen web-shop. Kolding’s usual label design with a somber forest as motif.
Pours opaque dark brown with a mid-sized off-white head. Stable. Settles as a 0,3 cm thick layer of foam obscuring the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, toasted malty odor mingling with a whiff of bitter coffee. Toffee and caramel. Burnt bread. A bit of brown sugar. Black coffee.
Light carbonation. Thick, oily, slightly viscous and creamy, soft and smooth, flat texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a notable sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Silken and flavorful Imperial Stout.
