I may have found my favorite watering hole! With only 6 seats and 3 beers on tap, this place is very small. It's also located in a place where you will not find it without Google maps. Even with Google maps it took us about 5 minutes to track it down.
The 3 beers (all Japanese) were the best thus far in the country. They came from 3 different brewers. They were a fruited sour, a Belgian IPA, and a "Japanese" (American) Pale Ale. There were 6 other beers in cans. The place also makes their own beer but were out of it when we were there.
The owner tends the bar and is very friendly and knowledgable about beer in general. When we told him we were from Boston, he recognized 4 of the breweries we mentioned (Trillium, Notch, Harpoon, and Sam Adams). He didn't recognize Jack's Abby. His wife works the kitchen making Japanese and Mexican food. Her tacos were as good as any we've had in Mexico or San Diego.
If you want an intimate and entertaining experience while trying 3 of the best beers in Japan, this is the place to go. It is one of my top 3 places I've ever been to.
