Poured into a Seattle Beer Week glass. Pours a very dark walnut brown with little light transmission in the glass and a two finger light khaki head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of mild dark toasted malt, grassy and citrus hops, hay and orange; lightly vegetal. Flavor is attenuated dark toasted malt, dark bread crust, grassy and citrus hops, hay, lemon, a touch of pine. Moderately citrus fined bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Some good flavor here for a NA ale; good enough that I wanted a little ABV to bring out the malt and hop flavors. I was impressed that this brewery attempted an uncommon style like a black IPA, and they carried it off quite well. Could have used a bit more malt depth, but it supports the hops well enough. NA beer will never quite replace the flavor depth and balance of traditional beer, but it's impressive how far they have come. I enjoyed drinking this one and it looked very nice as well.

Poured no foam but had some fizz on top. Very dark brown almost black stout like color. Smells a little like hops.
Taste is like a little like burnt bread crust and a lightly hopped IPA all mixed into one. There is a mild dark caramel flavor to the beer as well. I haven't had too many of these Black IPA beers but have many regular IPA beers and think I prefer the plain ones myself although this beer is still not bad at all. I could see myself enjoying something like this every now and then and would consider it when buying another NON ALC beer batch.

Pours very very dark brown but not quick jet black. Cream colored head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malt and piney hops. Similar taste, with a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Overall this is very good for an NA beer.
