Copenhagen 2/2 2020. 37,5 cl bottle with a cork stopper from Bornholmerbutikken, Torvehallerne, Kbh. K. Brown label in Small Batch’s usual design with two monks guzzeling beer while they're pouring the next one from a barrel at the same time.
Pours murky dark brown with a very big, extremely bubbly, light beige head. Disappear fairly fast leaving a thin patch of foam behind. No lacing.
Aroma is intense, very sweet and with a boozy edge. Brown sugar, caramel, fermented dark fruit. Light yeasty odor of basement. A touch of dark alcohol. Rum and brandy.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily, lightly tingling texture. A little sticky.
Flavor is heavy sweet. Followed by a Moderately strong tart, sour-ish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with light tart undercurrent. Lingering. Boozy finish.
I doubt that many monks have toiled with this beer or enjoyed it. But it is a decent take on a Quadrupel.
