Belgian tripel with cherries added during brewing. We take up the fight against wine's unruly entry into our Nordic Christmas tables, and challenge port with this Christmas tripel to the dish as an accompaniment to Risalamanden.

Copenhagen 26/12 2019. 50 cl bottle from Bornholmerbutikken, Torvehallerne, Kbh K. Small Batch’s usual design with candy-stripes, snow crystals and a big hop Flower hanging like a christmas decoration.
Pours murky orange with a small white head. Settles as thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass supplemented with S thin patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense and of sweet berries, malts and alcohol. Sweet cherries, light, tart notes. Solid base of sweet malts. Notable presence of alcohol.
Medium carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor hasca strong fruity sweetness followed by a more moderate tart, sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish. Lingers for a bit.
Unusual choice for a Christmas beer. But not without charm with a Christmas balancing between the tart and the sweet.
