25cl on tap pour, in a small nonic glass, at Fogg Bar in Madrid.
Appearance: Translucent pale gold color beer with a thick white head and plenty of persistent lacing.
Smell: Pungent (maybe a bit onion-like) with a hint of pine.
Taste: Bitter with herbal/leafy notes. Strong hop flavor with a cracker-like malt. While the hops are strong, it’s not a palate wrecker.
Mouthfeel: Nicely thick, light carbonation, dry finish.
Overall / Drinkability: I’m not sure how I feel about this one. Maybe the hops were old when they brewed this beer, but I feel like the hops are just sort of “off” with this IPA. Oh well, not everything can be good. One was enough.
