16-ounce can purchased at ABV Public House in Hillsboro, OR. Date stamp reads "WOMEN SE LA RIFEN 02/27/26". Enjoyed in a nonic half-pint glass.
The body is a pale straw yellow color veiled with a thin haze. The bright white head is frothy and short-lived but deposits good lacing on the glass. The nose is very much dominated by rose hips. It also includes light, crackery malt, sweet hay, a touch of raspberry, and a trace of sulfur. The flavor, on the other hand, opens strongly with violets on a base of moderately sweet malt. A spicy floral bitterness comes through in the middle as the violets subside, along with a bit of the raspberry character foreshadowed in the nose. The finish is sweet malt and rose hips, with subtle notes of honeydew and lemon peel. Light-bodied with ample carbonation. Finishes a little soft; more crispness and bite would be most welcome.
I enjoy beers with floral and herbal additives, but I prefer them with a bit more finesse. As a first draft, Floral Sacrifice is a good start. I'd like it more if Tiny Giants dialed back the sweetness and the flower profile a couple notches.
