Copenhagen 5/8 2021. 33 cl bottle from H. J. Hansen Vin, Vestergade, Odense.Simple purple label with a big white #07 and Anders Coisbo's signature.
Pours unclear maroon with a red hue and a mid-sized white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sweet, sugary odor mingling with alcohol. Fermented plums and raisins. Brown sugar and vanilla. Dark alcohol with some nice notes of boozy wood.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily, sticky, soft yet tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a boozy, vinous streak. Lingering. Finish is sugary.
Potent, sweet and boozy. And a little bit sticky. As a Barley Wine should be.
