Amaterasu Brewery

This small brewpub is an hour south of Tokyo near the seaside town of Kamakaru. It's located on the island of Enoshima, which is a touristy area for the Japanese (not many foreigners).

The brewpub is located about a quarter mile away from the hordes of visitors in a quiet residential part of the island. Use Google to find it because it is located behind a vacant lot. It's a small place with very little seating, most of which is a long concrete bench outside. There are up to 10 beers on tap (only 8 when I was there) and a decent variety of to-go cans. I didn't see any merchandise. Next to the pub was the equally small brewery.

There was only one person at the place. He did the cooking and serving. While the menus were avialable in English, this person's mastery of the language appeared to be limited to numbers and beer names. He was a good sport with our gaps in language.

There is a small kitchen which surprisingly serves a variety of tacos. These were very good and worth the visit alone. While we visited only 4 other people came by to buy beer, most of it to go.
