From the waxed top bottle marked 01314-C10610125. Sampled on June 18, 2014.
Already a turnoff prying through the wax. But once I do the pour is definitely reddish in color with a modest off-white head. Cloudy and opaque.
The aroma does have a slight malt and yeast character but there is something definitely grapey going on. Wheat? I get little to none.
Medium to heavier body with a certain slippery astringency.
The taste has a slightly more beer-like flavor but the Merlot grapes are still front and center above any malt and hop notes. Tastes like someone threw a malt mash into a glass of wine. It will not be on my repeats list.
