Deep dark/black bottom-fermented schwarzbier, with cappuccino-colored head. The taste is gentle and inviting, with a light acidity that is quickly accompanied by notes of cold-mashed dark malts; a touch of licorice, coffee and dark chocolate. The American hops add fruity notes and only a slight bitterness. To skeptics, Lord Vader would say: “I find your lack of faith disturbing!”

Copenhagen 6/5 2019. 50 cl bottle from Ølhandleren i Give (web-shop). Black version of Bang & Harbo's usual design with a drawing of a Hop cone and a little ghost wielding a light sword.
Pours dark brown with a red hue ans a big off-white head. Settles as thin almost transparent layer foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is sweet, roasted and and not without bitterness. Caramel, roasted dark malts, milk, coffee. Light hints of brown sugar.
Light carbonation. Soft, creamy texture.
Flavor is rather sweet followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish but with a bitter finish. Lingers for a while.
Pleasant well balanced Schwarzbier which excels at not being too sweet.
