One of Pasadena Brewing Company's standard offerings, this IPA had a dark amber color and a long-lasting vanilla colored head that shed great thick sheets of lace.
The nose was redolent of grapefruit and tangerine peels. Some caramel malt notes were present but clearly played second fiddle to the aromatic hops. The taste had a good juicy citrus flavor throughout; loaded with grapefruit and with that unusual tangerine flavor. Moderately sweet up front from the malts, the bitterness built on the palate but very seemed out of control. The feel was medium-bodied, clean, with a nice level of carbonation.
I thought this was a pretty nice rendition of the style. It could have stood to have a bit more malt balance but was quite drinkable, nonetheless. A good, solid effort by PBC.
