On-tap 6/10/2015 at the brewpub in Providence, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a light golden brown color, with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains blueberries, basil, caramelized malts, some Belgian yeast and a touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out sweet with the namesake blueberry flavor up front and is quickly followed by a strong basil spice flavor. Then some breadiness comes in from a hearty malt character and some Belgian yeast. The hops presence is very mild but brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Smooth and a little crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Flavorful, goes down ok, not too filling, good kick, decent representation of style, it’s an interesting beer but the tastes make it feel like you’re drinking tea.
