On-tap 11/30/2015 at the brewpub in Providence, RI served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a dark reddish brown color, with a large dense off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains heavy spices, Belgian yeast, caramelized malts, some fruit and a touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out with a strong burst of spices followed by sweet flavors of caramel, brown sugar and fruit. Then a heavy breadiness comes in from Belgian yeast and a hearty malt character and provides a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.
M: A little crisp and a little smooth, medium-to-heavy body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down ok, slightly filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a decent beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.
