On-cask 2/6/2017 at the brewpub in Providence, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a medium brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades very quickly and leaves no lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, brown sugar, some hops and some Belgian yeast.
T: The taste starts out with mildly sweet flavors of caramel, brown sugar and fruit. Then some breadiness comes in from a hearty malt character and Belgian yeast. The hops presence is very mild and there is not much balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.
M: Very watery and not smooth, medium body, very light carbonation even for a beer on-cask, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Not very tasty, does not go down easily, not too filling, good kick, not a good blend of styles, this beer is a blend of Shabby Abbey and Rusty Griswold IPA which are both solid beers, but this combination did not work very well in my opinion.
