Well, this beer really is the perfect storm. Yesterday I posted in the Winter Warmer/Wee Heavy tasting thread that I was going to see The Front Bottoms. Funny enough, they collaborated with Union Station and Buttonwoods to brew a beer just for the show, a gingerbread Winter Warmer. So here’s my unexpected round 3 of this tasting
Pours a cloudy reddish brown with 2 fingers of light tan head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
Man they really went all in on the gingerbread cookie vibe, it dominates the nose. I'm picking up on aromas of ginger, sweet vanilla, biscuity malt, cardamom, cookie dough, and a touch of raisin
It's a bit less focused in taste, but it comes back in the finish. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting light ginger, bready malt, toffee, sweet vanilla, and raisin. The swallow brings notes of ginger, raisin, biscuity malt, sweet vanilla, and cinnamon
A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a clean beer. Finishes neutral with a bit of bite from the spice
Given the circumstances of this beer release, I'm willing to bet I'll be the only person to ever review this one-off release, at least on BA. Not bad overall but not amazing
