On-tap 10/17/2010 at the brewpub in Providence, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep reddish brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is faint but contains caramelized malts, some citrus and some hops.
T: The taste is malty up front along with sweet flavors of caramel and a little bit of citrus. The hops presence is mild but complementary and provides a good balance. There's also a touch of smokiness in it. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.
M: Smooth and crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
D: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer worth drinking for a long time.

Had this on tap, now it's time for the growler review. 64oz growler into pint glass. 25 IBUs, 5.1% ABV.
A- Nice red richness, darker than expected. This one really caught my eye when I had it on tap and pours very nice out of the growler. Not much of a head, no lacing.
S- Nice fruity and malty richness. Very sweet, but good, not cloying or syrupy.
T- Strong malty breadiness and a fruity, citric hop bite make for a good red ale. Not as hoppy as perhaps I'd like, but achieves tremendous balance. Leaves you wanting more.
M- Low on the carbonation (growler)... flavors are well-balanced though.
D- High. Good summer beer, easy to knock back. If you find yourself @ Union Station, give this one a try. Out of the 3 beers I had there, I walked away with a growler of this and am glad I did.
