Do I particularly enjoy Union Station’s beers? No. Am I a sucker for the Dead Kennedys tribute on this label? Yes. So because of all that I don’t have the highest expectations, but maybe they can do justice to a German Pilsner. Let’s crack it open and find out
Pours a clear pale yellow with 2 fingers of soapy white head that fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
The nose here is actually quite nice, bright and vibrant. I’m picking up on aromas of lemon zest, cereal grain, doughy malt, floral hops, honey, white pepper, and a touch of apple skin
It’s a bit more bland in taste, but still not as bad as I was expecting all things considered. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting cereal grain, bready malt, floral hops, orange zest, light white pepper, and honey. The swallow brings notes of cereal grain, lemon zest, floral hops, orange zest, doughy malt, sweet honey, and light white pepper
A light medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry and refreshing
Well I’ll be damned, I actually enjoy this quite a bit more than I expected. Not the best example of the style by any means, but an easy sipper that has me ready for warm summer days
