On-tap 11/9/2016 at the brewpub in Providence, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep coppery brown color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a very thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains candy sugar, caramelized malts and some hops.
T: The taste starts out with a strong sweetness from the “60 lbs. of Belgian candy sugar” that was used. Then a hearty malt character breadiness comes in. The hops presence is subdued because it is overrun by the heavy candy sugar but it’s still strong and creates a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, low carbonation, finish is sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good variation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while if you’re looking for something a little bit different.

Nice creamy ivory was on moderate amber body. Great snap of hops on the nose. Taste follows, piney, diesel and resin. This beer kicks your teeth in. Wow. Did not expect a hop bomb like this. As it goes down some citrus comes through in the finish. Hefty mouthfeel and so smooth on cask.
