Klosterhede Porse Ale is added to porse buds (cattails) from the Klosterhede, which we pick from late autumn to early spring. It is a very fresh beer with a strong scent of porse. The taste is caramel-like with sweetness that is broken by the porse's slightly bitter spice taste. Suitable for rich dinner dishes.
Ingredients
Water, Pilsner malt, Munich malt, Cara Ruby malt, Cara blond malt, oat flakes, sugar and porse buds, hops and yeast.

Copenhagen 10/8 2021. 50 cl bottle brought home from the brewery by my in-laws. Nr. Nissum's usual design with the deer with antlers on a white label. This time with a light brown banner.
Pours unclear golden yellow with a big white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with strong, herbal fumes. Sweet pale malts, caramel, myrica gale, ginger. Floral notes.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, smooth lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a lighter bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a bitter edge. Lingers for a while. Finish is bit dry.
Quite intense but a tad too herbal for my taste buds.
