The appearance is quite a clear amber, rather than looking unfiltered. It's also a big foamer so it's hard to tell. Aroma is grainy with some floral hops and straw. Slight malty sweetness lasts as you sip. Some peach taste with the sweet malt but enlivened by some resiny hops and a tangy finish. Overall this is a very tasty and highly quaffable Lager. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bine & Vine.
I'm glad to see Mahrs Bräu expanding their offerings. Why not make quality German beers in California and see what happens? Of course the Trumer Brauerei in Berkeley has been doing just that, but I'm surprised they have other brews besides their Pilsner. I"ve never seen them.
