Look is dark gold with moderate white head. Smell is sweet malt, biscuit, noble hops. The taste is malt forward with just enough hops for balance. Slightly heavy mouthfeel with a clean finish. It is very comparable to German imports.

Obtained in the bottle at the brewery, however it appeared golden amber in color with a modest head. Malt in the nose and malt in the mouth. Very pleasant, easy to drink and yummy!

Really like this beer. Was super excited when my corner store got it in stock. I love bocks and I love mai, so there you go. Good and malty and a little lighter than Shiner Bock and perfect for summer.

Difficult to do, but I'm trying to be fair to a style that I really don't much care for. But I love Alamo ale, and the various beers they've come out with so far, so I grabbed a sixer anyway and here we go. It's well crafted, plenty malty and about what I expect from the style. I can't say it's the top beer in this style I've had, but certainly maibock fans should grab a sixer of local Alamo ale whenever they're in San Antonio or south TX. Cheers to Alamo ale and all the great local TX breweries that make it possible for me to buy about 90% local whenever I shop for beer. Fresh and priced lower than most other craft beers, local, and Alamo, kick ass!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
