From the bottle, it pours a clear light golden color with a nice off-white head that leaves a bit of lacing. Some hops and malt in the nose. In the mouth, it is a pleasant light malt flavor with some hops. Not bad!

Local liquor store was promoting this beer. Figured id give it a try. Upon opening the long neck and pouring into a pint glass, i really wanted to like it. I was excited to try it.
Smell is very subtle.Malt is there. A sort of bread dough smell is there as well. Grain smell is there, hops too.......but just nothing really worth noting. Nothing particulary stands out.
Pours a nice yellow with a good head. Carbonation is just right.
Flavor is ok at first, nothing exeptionally noteworthy, but the finish was a bit off.I got a hint of a bitter, almost nutty flavor after that dissipated as quickly as it appeared as i finished each sip.
Mouth feel is very good.
Over all, i was a bit disappointed. Ive always heard good things about Alamo and the guy at the liquor store really played it up as a great beer and his personal favorite ( probably just a typical sales gimmick to move it out of his store) but this left more to
Maybe it was all the hype and i just expected it to be better, but it left a lot to be desired.
If this is the only beer a bar or a friend had, would i still drink it? Sure i would. But i wouldnt inclined to buy it again.

I've seen people buying this brand around town. It's been highly praised so it got me curious. I've had Han's Pils from Real Ale before and it was very good, I figured that Alamo is going to have a good pils as well.
With that said, it's been disappointing pilsner. I couldn't find my regular Konig or Urquell, and I didn't feel like getting Han's Pils again. Big mistake.
Bought a 6-pack of Alamo Pils at HEB. Popped one open, poured into a pilsner glass. Good golden look, not much head, not much smell. I was thirsty so I downed half of glass from the start to get a good feel for this beer. "WOW" was my first impression, and not in a good way. I said "WOW" because it tasted like Shlitz on the first sip, that sweet corn flavor of cheap adjunct American lager. There was hardly any hops, it was mostly adjunct cheap lager taste, the best I can describe it. Miller brands itself as a pilsner... perhaps Alamo went the same route because there was nothing German about this style.
Right now I've been drinking on this 6-pack and it's hard to finish. I won't even do disservice to Shlitz by comparing this beer to it. It's closer now to Lone Star or Milwakee. I just can't get that cheap corn taste out of my mouth, what were they thinking?
It's not a good beer, it's not a true pilsner. I can't recommend this nor am I getting this every again. Free beer? No thank you, I'll pass.

Clear, straw yellow. Unimpressive head and retention.
Nose is bready, biscuit malts, with a slight touch of grassy hops and lemon zest.
Taste is bready biscuit malts up front, followed by a slight grassy hop flavor. Finishes with a light lingering bready flavor.
Clean, crisp mouthfeel.
Good beer.

Poured from tap, small 1 finger head recedes quickly. Crystal clear pale yellow in the glass. Smells of malt and grass. Taste pretty much the same, biscuit malt on the front and a grassy hop on the back. Nice mouthfeel

The best Alamo beer I've had to date. Lovely packaging on a 12oz bottle poured into a Hops & Grain Craft Master Two.
Slightly hazy appearance, maybe out of style for a pilsner, but not too bad.
Aroma and flavor are good, maybe the slightest hint of DMS.
Overall, good if you're at an event and they are free, but so many better options exist out there.

Appearance: Mildly hazy, light golden color with a nice thick white head. Very, very little carbonation, except for the pour. The head sticks around for a while and remains very fluffy and starts to dwindle after about five minutes, forming a thin covering and some nice and tight lacing
Smell: Light over all, floral and fresh malts come through first. Mild citrus fruit aromas follow along with some apple and a nice summer grass scent is thrown in as well.
Taste: Bitter on the top of the tongue, malty and refreshing. The lemon zest and apple flavors come out as you swallow. Very clean and very refreshing to drink, the aftertaste is just as smooth as the first sip.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied, mildly carbonated and crisp.
Overall: Smooth to drink and looks very refreshing, this Pils is a good experience to have. I bought this as a single bottle at HEB.

Appearance: Moderately hazy medium golden yellow body, surmounted by a large, coarse white head, with good retention. The carbonation, in the form of rather fat bubbles, drifts lazily to the surface in columns. Scattered, patchy lacing adorns the glass walls.
Aroma: Slightly catty hops dominate the aroma. With the style being a Pilsener, I tend to expect a noble hop variety, with grassy and perhaps spicy. The cracker malt typically associated with this style is also lacking. Pale malt aromas are prominent
Taste: Opens with a fairly strong wave of pale malt, bready and quite clean. The malt presents no cracker malts, as often found in well-made Pilseners, and the hoped-for lemon or orange rind flavors were also absent. The hops seem a bit catty and earthy, with a long-lingering, somewhat medicinal note at the close.
Mouth feel: Soft and full, pleasing.
Drinkability/notes: This presents more as a hoppy Euro-style lager than a traditional Pils, but is still very drinkable.
Presentation: Packaged in a stubby twelve-ounce brown glass bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.
