This is an amazing Doppelbock! It may be my favorite. I had the opportunity to try it at the brewery and I highly recommend it. The brewery claims an ABV of 7.2% and an IBU of 60. It has a slight coffee and chocolate flavor to it and a clean finish. It is very dark and holds a nice creamy head.

these guys are doing a real nice job with the classic styles, and this big malty chewy bock is another fine example of that. its served in a dimpled mug, what looks like a huge portion for the strength here, good value! its chestnut brown in color, mostly clear, and holds a creamy tan head, looks the part. nutty sweet malt profile here, classically german too though, and the sugary intensity fades by the finish, notes of molasses, maple syrup, and toasted almonds in here, rich and earthy, with some nice breadiness provided by the old world lager yeast, very clean fermentation, and it has a crazy lightness and drinkability for what it is, not as weighty in the belly as so many of these are, smooth in feel too, and boosted by high carbonation for the style. hints of raisin, light cocoa, and toffee are present, along with a lingering old world german grain character. the buzz comes up quick with this one, but i would definitely have a few of these. nice to see such solid execution of a german classic!

Bought on draft at the brewery! Lovely brown color with a modest head. Nicely malty in the nose. Nicely malty and strong in the mouth. Extremely dangerous brew - easy to drink!
