Copenhagen 11/8 2020. 50 cl bottle from Kvickly, Søtorvet, Silkeborg. Painting of a couple of dark mushrooms on the label.
Pours slightly unclear, maroon with a red hue and a small white head. Settles as thin, flimsy patch of of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of brown sugar, caramel, toasted malts and nuts. A bit of bitter chocolate making a nuisance.
Light carbonation. Thin, oily, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is sour-ishly bitter with a sweet undercurrent. Lingers for a while. Semi-dry finish.
More than decent brown ale with a nice toasted and warm sweetness and a distinct bitter bite.
