A classic IPA; clean, with a tasteful bite to it. Boasting classic American hops, Centennial, Chinook, and Simcoe, from the pacific north west. Western Sky presents a bright golden color, with floral and citrus aromatics. Resinous pine flavors precede a dry finish with a lingering citrus flavor that stings just enough to be enjoyable.

Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a shaker glass. It is mostly clear, bright golden-orange with a half finger of creamy, bright white head and abundant, thick lacing. The smell includes lemon, grapefruit, pine needles, and a whiff of sweeter tropical fruit. It has a classic West Coast flavor: The Centennial, Chinook, and Simcoe hops provide notes of lemon peel, grapefruit rind, pine sap, herbs, and a hint of tangerine and red berry. There is sharp, clean hoppy bitterness throughout. This ale is full-bodied and well-carbonated. The 7.3% ABV gives it good substance but it is very drinkable. Overall, Western Sky is a very good, New Jersey-brewed West Coast IPA. The whole exceeds the sum of its parts. It is worth a try.
