13 oz. pour at the brewery. Served in a tulip glass. It pour a dense, dirty tangerine color with a half-finger of milk-white head and spotty lacing. The smell is sedate; mostly lemon, grapefruit, and a whiff of pineapple. Its taste is primarily tart and a bit sour with lemon and grapefruit but minimal tropical sweetness. It also has an earthy malt backbone. The mouth feel is better: plush and creamy with appropriate carbonation, and it is easily drinkable at 8% ABV. Overall, I was disappointed by this DIPA. The appearance and feel are fine but the flavor is unbalanced. The Galaxy hops could provide more tropical sweetness to balance the Citra.
