Copenhagen 24/1 2020. 50 cl bottle from Kvickly, Falkoner Allé, Frb. C. Røde Port’s usual design with the stylized portal and a drawing of an airplane on a somber red background on the label.
Pours murky orange with a very big white head. Stable and immensely fluffy. Settles as frothy, uneven, lumpy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense, distinctly malty sweet with slightly lighter citric streak. Sweet caramel, honey. Unripe berries, hints of grape fruit.
Light carbonation- Slightly thick, oily, almost flat texture.
Flavor is fairly sweet followed and partly by a medium strong, citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter-sweet. With the bitterness winning coming out on top. Lingers for a while. Dry finish.
Quite on the malty side. And a bit unbalanced but not without charm.
