Copenhagen 17/11 2019. 75 cl bottle from Ping Vin & Spiritus, Vestergade, Køge. Far & Søns usual label design wit an off-white label with a lot of text including recommendations of what food to enjoy while drinking this beer (in this case spicy food, and blue cheese).
Pours murky, brownish orange with a small off-white head. Disappears fairly fast. Leaving a muddy substance behind. No lacing.
Aroma is medium-intense of sweet fermented fruit, sugar and with a light grainy sourness in the background. Fermented Plums and Apricot. Prominent presence of alcohol. Light whiff of humid basement.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a slightly stronger sour bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while.
Not what I would expect of a Tripel. Clear Belgian inspiration and a bit of Belgian yeast. But a bit dark and sweet for a Tripel. A bit flat and murky, but it has it's own strange sense of balance.
