Pint sampled on cask at The Market Porter, London on 13th November 2006...
Poured quite a dark copper colour... Slightly off white head poured sparsely with pretty thick bubbles then faded quickly to almost nothing... light carbonation drifted to the surface... no real lacing...
Aroma - Difficult to make anything out... some decent juicy fruitiness (oranges, some strawberries), some toffee / caramel maltiness, some salty notes, light floral hops, some grassy notes...
Taste Very light fruits (apples, bitter oranges), sea saltiness, light malts, some bready hints, quite strong grassy hops, fairly strong toffee sweetness - maybe just the faintest notes of honey coming through as well, some light creamy notes...
Feel - Quite sharp.... Light / medium body... Pretty refreshing and drinkable... a decent session beer although the sweetness could become too much near the end...
Overall - An average bitter - lacking in some depth... Maybe worth a try once..
