Frederiksberg 25/11 2020. 50 cl from draft at Tap 21, H.C Ørstedsvej, Frb. C.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a small light beige head. Settles as thin but consistent layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, roasted odor with light peaty notes. Dark roasted malts, brown sugar, leather and pipe tobacco. ONotable odor of licorice peeking in.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, tingling and fairly lively texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a light bitter undercurrent. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Not a overly Christmassy Christmas beer. But a decent Dubbel with a nice touch of licorice.
