Tasted this beer by half-pint yesterday at my local Wetherspoon's pub in East End London. So nice to see Arundel's beer on the handpump as it's not so easy to find over here in London.
A: it pours just a little bit hazy, dark-yellow to straw colour, with a sponge-like, thin beerhead and very very low carbonation.
S: soft citrusy zest, like orange-peel, plus a faint hint of nectarine-flavoured candy and hazelnut all packed in one sniff... the hop aroma dominates the nose while a light, pale-malts note sustains at the back.
T & M: juicy... mouthful of peaches (with a tinge of lychees), and moderately perfumy and flowery hops, against a slightly buttery flavour and some nutty maltiness... The bitterness is restrained, while a smooth aftertaste of juicy hops mixed with pale malts lingers quite well in the finish. Medium-bodied and medium-flavoured ale with a good balance. Very drinkable.
