16oz can purchased from the fridge as a 4-pack for $15.99 plus tax. There's no canned on date, but I know that this is fresh.
Look: There was almost two fingers of a rocky white head that have since reduced to a thin layer. The beer has a light to medium gold color and a very slight translucence. Looks like it's nicely carbonated.
Smell: Very nice nose - I'm getting floral and herbal notes up front, along with a crackery malt base. There's a bright, lemony fruitiness also and a peppery finish. It smells like it's going to be really fresh, clean, and crisp. After the first sip, I'm really picking up on a distinct lemon zest note. I'm also getting fresh apple juice notes after pouring the rest of the can.
Taste: It's really tasty. This beer has an incredibly smooth, balanced profile. Up front, it tastes like a very fresh Italian Pilsner - floral and perfumy and then lemony and crackery. The malt profile up front is really tasty and I'm not sure how to describe it - I'm not sure if it has a subtle honey character or that's just the malt flavor. The finish is very clean, crisp, fairly dry, and there's a very pleasant and mild bitterness that lingers.
Feel: This has a nice mouthfeel - it's a bit bigger than light bodied but not quite medium bodied. The carbonation is excellent - it has a soft, fine feel.
Overall: This is an Italian Pilsner style and it's done very well. It's also cool that they made it their own by adding some Vienna malt and a touch of oats. It's really drinkable and super tasty. The future is bright for this brewery - I look forward to when they release their next beer.
